Established in 1967, the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers has as mission the development of a fertile environment for education, research and innovation, key factors in the expansion of the knowledge-based economy. Specifically, the mission of the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers is to empower high-quality scientific research, to share knowledge through education in the domains of Computer Science and Information Technologies, and Systems Engineering, as well as to offer a stimulating, high-level professional and social environment to the students and academic staff within the faculty.
The Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers prepares engineers in the domains of “Systems Engineering” and “Computer Science and Information Technology”, based on modern curricula, where the theoretical aspects are combined with practical excellence. The students of the Faculty benefit from a competitive learning environment that stimulates creativity, scientific and technical initiatives, personal development and active involvement of the future specialists in the development of a modern society.

The Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers carries on its academic and scientific research activities through its three departments: Department of Computer Science, Department of Automatic Control and Industrial Informatics, Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, as well as through various research centers and laboratories. Maintaining excellence in research is a priority for the Faculty, with scientific research targeting strategic domains such as computer science and engineering, advanced automatic control, robotics, and modern information technologies. Research is conducted in the framework of national, European and international research projects and programmes.
The training process benefits from amphitheaters, classrooms and laboratories equipped with modern infrastructure, various computing resources, multimedia equipment, Internet access and wireless networks. The students of the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers have multiple opportunities to assert themselves. They have free access to the faculty resources, the Internet, and through additional training courses organized on the faculty’s premises they can obtain certificates of qualification and competence in a wide range of specialized fields. Students having good professional results get to participate in national and international competitions, benefit from training periods abroad within prestigious universities, and they can be involved in the activity of Faculty research teams.
Every year, all graduates of the Faculty find jobs on the domestic or international market, with national or multi-national companies, research institutes and prestigious universities.
